28 Mar COVID-Related Resources Launched
To help our community stay informed on COVID-related news, and to assist working designers and illustrators experiencing a work slowdown, the Guild has launched two resource pages.
Coronavirus Resources
The Coronavirus Resource page lists governmental and NGO resources. Resources on from WHO, CDC, and Johns Hopkins provide information on the measures to combat the pandemic spread, as well as how to identify and handle COVID-19 symptoms. We’ve also listed financial resources, such as information on SBA and federal government assistance programs and grants. In the State-by-State section, we’ve listed links to local public health departments, local grants, and other relevant information.
Information is constantly being added to this page, so check back often. If you know of a resource we’ve missed, please email us and we’ll add it to the page.
Social Distancing Survival Hub
We’ve gathered a number of resources on our Social Distancing Survival Hub, designed to help graphic artists work on their businesses and stay in touch. The Hub includes articles on how to work from home, articles and archived webinars to help you catch up on overlooked business tasks, links to resources to advocate for financial support, streaming entertainment and sources of inspiration, and a collection of artwork from Guild members.
We’re also investing into a robust schedule of virtual events, open to all graphic artists and creators. Our free Town Hall webinars are live Q&As with professionals in financial management and communications, speaking specifically on how to weather the economic slowdown. We also have two informal, social virtual meetups – Freelance Fandango (Monday afternoons) and The Designers Corner (Wednesday evenings). NAWBO-NYC has also invited Guild members and graphic artists to join their daily series of virtual workshops.
If you’d care to contribute an article on how you are surviving the COVID shutdown, send it our way for consideration. We’re also encouraging artists to share their creative responses – their drawings, paintings, cartoons, word art, etc.
