We’ll gather at Museum Of Bad Art, MOBA, inside the Dorchester Brewing Company, 1250 Mass Avenue, Boston. Join us for a unique opportunity to appreciate “bad” art, unwind, connect with fellow artists, and create in an inspiring setting. Can any art made by the human hand truly be “bad”?

Bring your sketchbook and join us for an afternoon of creativity and enjoyment. Artists of all skill levels are encouraged to participate!

Join us for a Drink n’ Draw event with the Graphic Artists Guild in partnership with Xencelabs and The Crafter’s Workshop on Saturday, July 27, from 2-6pm. This event offers a unique opportunity for artists of all skill levels to come together, socialize, and draw in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere.

The bar and the patio will be open throughout the event. From 3-5pm, we will have a costumed model for attendees to sketch. Freddy Tutiven, the Creative Director and co-owner of Fun Ideas LLC and toy design instructor at FIT, will demo the Xencelabs Pen Display 24, a top-of-the-line tool for digital artists.

Attendees will not only have the opportunity to try the Xencelabs Pen Display 24, but the chance to win a Pen Tablet Medium Bundle during the raffle. More prizes will be announced at the event and each attendee will receive a free gift from The Crafter’s Workshop.

Get to know our awesome host, Yanique DaCosta. MFA

Yanique is a passionate graphic designer and fine artist on a mission to empower fellow creatives. From a solopreneur to the proud owner of a thriving, fully remote design firm, she’s been there and done it all! With her decade of experience in brand development and advertising, Yanique brings a fresh and exciting perspective to the Graphic Artists Guild, launching member-centric initiatives like Guild Chat, Guild Chat LIVE, and Monthly Member Spotlights.

Yanique has worn many hats within the Graphic Artists Guild, including Southern Regional Representative (2016-2019), At-Large Representative (2019-2021), Treasurer (2021-2023), and ICoD Delegate (2018-Present).

Carl Cleanthes is a creative entrepreneur who, in 2006, founded Epic Made, a team of millennial gamer-nerds who live and breathe advertising, digital art, and storytelling.

Over the years, Carl and his team have created powerful and eye-catching creative assets for some of the most notable brands in the world, including USA Network, Nickelodeon, SyFy, WWE, Shopify, and many others. Carl aka “Colorful Carl” has a YouTube channel and Twitch live art stream where he promotes and inspires creativity in his community. He is an avid proponent of web3 technology and understands the potential it has to empower the creators for generations to come.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Carl is an urban homesteader, believing that a sustainable lifestyle is practiced in all aspects. He shares his knowledge of growing, heirlooms, seed harvesting, and the art of self-reliance. He is a husband of 17+ years to his inspiring wife Alden and father to his semi-feral, wild-child gamer son. They are both the light of his life.
