It’s our final chat of 2019! After a jam-packed year of Advocacy greatness, we thought it was only right to drop the mic with a “Copyright Night.”
We’ll be rounding up our usual lineup of experienced creative pros from the Guild Board and community to answer all things copyright. But wait, ding ding ding, who else is in the ring? What’s a copyright night without some legal advice? Look out for legal pros this time too! How often do you get a chance to ask legal questions on Twitter? Maybe not too often…just saying.
If you’ve already got a copyright championship belt, share your knowledge with your less-experienced peers. We’re sure even you will learn a new move or two. Chatters usually include graphic + UX designers, illustrators, branding and social media gurus all with their own unique point-of-view on each month’s topic. Learn + Share “Copyright” with your tribe.
This month, we’ll be tackling basics like:
What does copyright *actually* mean?
What are the benefits of registering a copyright?
Also, game time questions like:
What can/should I do if I receive a takedown notice?
What is work for hire and how does it affect copyright?
Follow #TheGuildChat on Thursday, November 21st from 7:00pm to 8:00pm ET, and jump in with your own thoughts. The chat is moderated by @gaguild_SO, and each question is shared clearly before we start talking about it. When you reply, add “A1,” “A2,” etc., as appropriate for each question, before your response. (It helps us all keep track of what comment goes with which question!)
See you there!
P.S. Are you a forgetful Fred? Register on our Eventbrite page to get text alerts when we’re getting ready to go.
