Communications Manager
The Graphic Artists Guild seeks full-time hire for remote work, to begin February 1, 2021.
2-3 years of relevant experience required, suggested salary: $42,500
Basic Breakdown of Tasks
- Social Media: 20 hours/week
- Newsletters: 15 hours/week
- Website Updates: 2-4 hours/week
Key Responsibilities and Proficiencies
- Content/copy creation for social media and newsletters (using Buffer and Mailchimp)
- Ad creation for paid social media campaigns
- Content updates on website (WordPress)
- Production work on graphics — resize for repurposing across platforms (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Copyediting and occasional copywriting (articles / blog posts)
- Maintain consistent messaging across all touchpoints
Overall Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions
- Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization, social media campaign results, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail both for line editing copy and consistency in style and tone across our content
- Active and well-rounded personal presence on social media, with a command of each network and their best practices
- Attend all scheduled meetings via Zoom (5–10/month)
- Communicate with approx. 30 staff and volunteers in real-time via Slack
Bonus Skills
- Strategy experience with social media and/or newsletter campaigns
- Basic understanding of and ability to implement SEO
- Knowledge of demand generation marketing and/or inbound marketing
- Experience with or interest in data capture and analysis (Google Data Studio, etc.)
- Practice of staying up-to-date with the latest trends in WordPress and SEO
- Graphic design ability for creating original graphics
- Experience working in graphic artists and/or with not-for-profits
