Kim and Jill will show examples of their preliminary work and process and discuss the importance of this great resource and why they wanted to be involved in crafting the newest edition’s visual direction.

About Linda Secondari:
Linda Secondari is the Principal and Creative Director of Studiolo Secondari, a design firm in NYC focusing on Book Design, Branding, and Design Strategy. Linda is an award-winning Creative Director and Design Strategist who integrates Design innovation with critical business experience.
Linda’s work has been recognized by the AIGA, NY Book Show, Stiftung Buchkunst Competition of the Frankfurt Book Fair, and the AUP Book, Jacket, and Journal Show.
Linda is also a board member of the Graphic Artists Guild, where she currently serves as Treasurer. She is excited about her new role as “Publisher for the Guild” which includes overseeing the publication of the Guild’s Handbook, 16th edition, and charting a course for future editions.
About Jill Shimabukuro:
Jill Shimabukuro is the Director of Design at University of Chicago Press, where she leads a team whose work has earned international recognition for design excellence. Jill’s designs have been recognized by the AIGA 50 Books/50 Covers, The Type Directors Club of New York, Communication Arts, the Association of American University Presses, and Print Regional Design Annual, and are part of the permanent collection of the Denver Art Museum/AIGA Design Archives and Society of Typographic Arts Chicago Design Archive.

Kimberly Glyder’s award-winning illustration and design studio specializes in lettering, illustration and design for stationary, retail products and book publishing. Clients include: Penguin Random House, Sourcebooks, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Graywolf Press.
