ABOUT THIS ARTIST

John York, Artist / Illustrator

John was born in Tyler, Texas. His parents met on the city square in the World War 2 era. His grandfather, Henry York, was a photographer in East Texas in the early 1900s, travelling by horse and buggy and Ford Model “T”. John has a BFA from The University of Texas at Tyler. He has illustrated several books for Gregory Miller, an author from Pittsburgh, PA, and has designed giftware for Fitz & Floyd, Lenox, The Hamilton Collection and S & D Fine Collectibles (sold in Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Walt Disney World and Bloomingdale’s). John lives in the Brick Street District of Tyler with his wife, Ruth, whom he met in French class in High School
