ABOUT THIS ARTIST

Sommer Maxwell, Collage Artist + Illustrator

I'm a self-taught collage artist. I create collage elements traditionally and then create the collages digitally for more freedom to play, make changes, and explore! My art is inspired by daily life, nature, travel, and connecting as a community.

I believe art, in all its forms, transforms and inspires community. I make art to share with my community so that it can bring them joy and encourage connection.

Before discovering my passion for art, I was a 4th-grade teacher as well as a yoga and meditation instructor for school teachers and families for several years. I've always been a creative problem solver with a fascination with light, color, and photography.
