Belinda Ivey dives into the basics of data visualization — the crux of any infographic.
Learn where to find data and how to sift through the information. Learn how to match chart types to the right information. Belinda even covers modern approaches to designing data, and how the story is critical to the design. Rest assured, statistics and other math skills are not pre-requisites – though they may come in handy.
Belinda Ivey is the co-founder and CEO of KarBel Multimedia, a creative agency that specializes in infographic design, data visualizations, motion graphics, and interactives. Belinda’s award-winning career has sling-shot her from newspaper art departments across the country for the first 12 years of her career before she left the industry in 2011 to focus on her company with her husband.
Belinda is also a part-time lecturer at the University of Miami’s School of Communication, where she has taught multimedia design and infographics to undergraduate students. She is currently pursuing an MFA in motion media design from the Savannah College of Art & Design.
