Presenter Bio

L.D. (Lou) Chukman graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1978. Through a series of unusual coincidences he started his career as a courtroom artist in 1975, which has, unbelievably, kept paying him through the present day.

His work is primarily seen on WLS-TV, the ABC outlet in Chicago. His drawings have been broadcast by the Associated Press, ABC, NBC, CBS, WGN, Fox News, CNN, the BBC, and television networks in Denmark, Russia, and India.  He is proudest of a little postage-stamp-sized appearance in The Onion. Other creative jobs include fine arts painter, muralist, caricature artist, portraitist, storyboarder, and cartoonist to order.  He has worked the usual starving-artist side jobs such as college financial aid officer, UPS counter worker, car hiker, and office temp help. He has never waited tables.
