About the Webinar
Is conflict with clients (co-workers and vendors?) eating up much of your most productive hours? Are you spending too much time dealing with easily avoidable issues? Some of the common hotspots for conflict; unfulfilled expectations (rejected creative), blown deadlines and going over budget can be managed, and in some cases completely avoided.
In this webinar you'll learn how to engage, document, communicate, and listen, so you can make the work of bringing creative solutions to the marketplace satisfying, fun and profitable. And in those instances where your best efforts are not producing the intended results, and you find you just don't see eye to eye, perhaps consider coming to the mediator's table to restore communication and resolve the issue at hand.
- Learn to identify the most common areas of conflict with your clients.
- Learn methods, behaviors and habits of successful collaborators that will avoid and reduce workplace conflict.
- Introduction to mediation –– what to do should you find the need of an outside party to assist with an impasse.
About the Presenter
Valerie Bishop is a seasoned creative professional, with a heart and mind for conflict resolution. After graduating RISD with a BFA in Graphic Design, she returned to her native New York City to work hard, build relationships and have fun. Over the course of her career, Valerie has worked for some of the biggest name brands in the world, and small businesses alike, on a broad range of assignments. Along the way, she developed very fine people skills that have proven to be just as valuable, if not more so, as her natural creative talent. In early 2017, Valerie took those skills to the next level by getting trained to be a mediator at The New York Peace Institute. She continues to design, and is now including mediation in her offerings, focusing on workplace conflict, with a special emphasis on creatives and the people who hire them.
