A client agreement should not only protect you when something goes wrong, it should work for you know to prevent things from going wrong and to help solidify and maintain your client relationship. A client agreement needs to:
• Be written so both you and your client can read and understand it.
• Include enough detail in the SOU so everyone knows what’s required of them.
• Describe what happens if things aren’t working out as expected and someone wants out.
• Be as short as possible while covering all the business and legal bases.
• Help prevent project creep.
• Help you upsell your services.
During the webinar, you’ll learn:
• Why English is almost always preferable to legalese.
• How to upsell and prevent project creep using one contract tool.
• How to maintain your branding and vibe even once the contract goes out.
• How to minimize legal fees for contract review and revision.
Presenter: Michele Berdinis
Michele spent over 20 years representing start-ups in every industry. That work included drafting all their client/customer agreements, so she got to see first-hand what works and what doesn’t. More recently, Michele launched Beeline Legal, a web-based expert system that delivers legal services to help clients protect the trademarks they love at a price they can afford. (But she still loves working on a good client agreement.)
