HUD (skin)

HUD (skin)

As a counterweight to all my highly retouched fashion and beauty work I decided to do a project highlighting the natural texture of the skin, and celebrating the beauty of uniqueness and imperfections.
Hud is Norwegian for skin.

About the Artist

Norwegian photographer Veronica von Clemm is known for her clean and minimalistic approach
to portraiture, beauty and fashion, with a photographic style that shows a clear connection her
Scandinavian roots.

After studying photography in Trondheim, Norway, Veronica went on to work as 1st assistant for well renowned Norwegian photographer Isabel Watson. From then on Veronica started working full time as a freelance photographer. In 2010 she created and developed the concept of a new interior magazine, along with Katrine Hofseth Leira. The magazine specifically focused on small urban apartments, and practical interior solutions for small spaces.

In 2011 Veronica attended the Fashion Consultant program at fashion and makeup school Imageakademiet in Oslo, Norway. She chose to do this in order to be able to have more knowledge about the fashion and styling aspect of her photography. Through this education she got an internship at KK magazine’s fashion department, which is one of the best selling women’s magazines in Norway. The fashion editor at the time, Silje Pedersen, discovered she was a talented photographer and started hiring her to shoot for the magazine. KK magazine has from then on been one of Veronica’s most frequent clients. Her work has also been featured in magazines such as L’Officiel, Stella, Cosmopolitan, FEMALE and SVA. Other clients include Jasmine Chong, Viking Footwear, Berghaus Norway, Rohitava Banerjee, Mardou & Dean and Ramlösa.

Veronica is currently living in Brooklyn, New York, but continues to work for her clients in Oslo. She originally moved to New York to attend the BFA Photography Program at Parsons School of Design, to find new influences and inspiration to her photography. One can never be fully educated in a field such as photography and she always seeks to learn new skills and techniques to add to her own practice.
