About the Artist

I am a graphic designer who has been working in corporate creative marketing for over 15 years. I am presently working for myself, Cindy Martin Design, as a designer focused primarily on small corporate clients, professionals, and nonprofit organizations.  As a designer/business owner, I am responsible for all the creative, art direction and execution as well as the unglamorous business details that accompany every company.

I have an AAA, Summa Cum Laude in Visual Communication and a BFA, Cum Laude in Communication Arts. I am a graduate of the VCU School of the Arts in Richmond, Virginia.  I have been a member of GAG and AIGA for years and enjoy the educational and social contact opportunities these organizations provide.

In addition to my work as a designer, I also teach digital design. It’s a challenge but much fun to see students discover the world of digital art!  Teaching also challenges me to stay up with technology and trends.

To maintain sanity, I must participate in hands on art too and presently am working with acrylic collage, encaustic (not very successfully) and book arts, which is fun and meets the need to get tactile.
