Catherine Lange, Graphic Designer

Catherine Lange has worked in many roles in her career in communications, the graphic arts, and publishing. She collaborates with clients on their projects, bringing expertise and flexibility to work not only as an award-winning graphic designer but also as a photographer, editor, project manager, artist, and self-published author.

Before beginning to work independently in 2001, Lange worked as publications manager for The University of Chicago Law School, the Chicago Board of Education, and the Chicago Park District. She handled production for Aperture magazine and books in New York City. She managed an in-house printing operation as well as a typesetting company, and was managing editor of The Ragan Report, a practical, skills-oriented resource for communications professionals.

Lange lives in northwestern Wisconsin but maintains extensive involvement with Chicago clients, working on projects for The Chicago Community Trust, Elevated Chicago, The Pritzker Traubert Foundation, Federal Bar Association–Chicago Chapter, Illinois Action for Children, and Communities in Schools. Clients in northwestern Wisconsin include Big Water Film Festival, Apostle Islands and Chequamegon Bay Area Community Funds, Cheq Bay Renewables, and the Chequamegon Bay Arts Council.

She has served as a board member of the Wisconsin Arts Board and the Chequamegon Bay Arts Council. Lange’s artistic nature is expressed in oil painting, mosaics, and, most often, photography. Lange also practices Tai Chi and is a Reiki Master Teacher.
