ABOUT THIS ARTIST

Jamie Johnson, Art Director

I’ve spent the majority of my life obsessed with aesthetics, philosophy, and the social aspects that drive us, so the moment I discovered design it was like a light flicked on that could never be turned back off. To me, design is a science; it’s essentially an in-the-field study of how aesthetics can drive decision, lifestyle, and even how we process reality around us. We derive so much of what guides us as people from the visual systems that we observe and interact with, and this phenomenon compels me to continue experimenting, continue producing results, and continue growing new approaches to the field. I was awarded my Bachelor in Fine Arts: Graphic Design with a minor in Philosophy from Auburn University in 2019, but I’ve been working within the design field since high school when an adventurous firm decided to bring me on back in 2012 (which puts me in the paradoxical position of being a rather recent grad with about a decade of studio experience).

  • Images within Guild Member Portfolios are for Web browser viewing only.
  • Any unauthorized downloading or duplication of images is prohibited by copyright law.
  • Use of the images, including comp usage, must be negotiated with the creator of the image prior to any use.

We ask you to remember that many designers, artists and illustrators may not want to have their images used in any way, including in agency presentations. Any use, including “comping,” implies value that is worth compensation. Art or photography in portfolios submitted for a job should not be copied for any use, including client presentation or “comping,” without the creator’s permission. In case after case, the creator’s property rights have been upheld, and those caught engaging in these practices were penalized, paying large fines to the artists.
